  • Lead software life‑cycle: versioning, releases and change control.
  • Specify instrumentation and communication; integrate and test fieldbuses.
  • Implement and verify interfaces (OPC UA, Modbus TCP/RTU, PROFINET, EtherCAT, IO‑Link).
  • Build simulation and test setups; run functional testing, FAT/SAT and commissioning support.
  • Work hands‑on with subcontracting partners and internal teams (mechanical, electrical, software, production).
  • Produce clear documentation: architecture descriptions, test protocols and release notes.

Tech we use (and you know)

  • PLC/DCS: CODESYS‑based automation platforms.
  • HMI/GUI: Web‑based technologies.
  • Version control & tooling: ticketing and version handling systems.
  • Electrical & CAD (advantage): EPLAN, E3, Solidworks Electrical.
  • Drives/motion (advantage).

What you bring

  • 6+ years of relevant experience in control/automation engineering.
  • MSc in Automation, Electrical, Mechatronics or equivalent.
  • Strong knowledge of IEC 611313 and modern software practices.
  • Experience from productised / serial production automation is a plus.
  • Understanding of EU requirements such as CRA and NIS2 is an advantage.
  • Languages: English. Finnish is not mandatory but helpful. Clear and direct communication style.

  • Travel: 0–10% (mainly domestic).
  • Schedule: Standard office hours.

Why join Upheat

  • Meaningful mission with measurable CO₂ reduction.
